Schubart Gymnasium

In mid-October 2022, the new observatory at the Schubart Gymnasium in Ulm was inaugurated. The school's historic observatory had been closed for some time due to structural concerns, but in recent years, the city provided funding for the renovation of the dome building by installing a turnkey observatory from Baader Planetarium on the "Astronomy Tower." The Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Foundation financed the mount from the manufacturer 10 Micron, while the Vector Foundation in Stuttgart sponsored a 17-inch PlaneWave CDK reflector telescope.
