Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe

The Lemgo site is primarily used today for astrophotography, visual observations, and guided tours.

In the entrance area, there is a small lecture room with approximately 10 seats, where presentations on astronomical topics are held for small visitor groups.

On April 22, 2015, the 42-year-old dome was replaced by a new, modern one from Baader Planetarium.

Inside the dome, observations and photography can be performed using a reflecting telescope - Planewave CDK 17" Widefield, f/6.8 - and a refractor - Takahashi FQS 106, f/5. Both are mounted on a Paramount ME mount and tracked automatically. Additionally, a Lodestar II autoguider is in use. For imaging, cameras of the types SBIG ST-8300, 8.3 MPix, Bayer matrix, and an FLI 8300 Mono, 8.3 MPix, mono, are available.

The central control of all components, including the dome, telescope, guider, and cameras, is managed by a central computer.
