The Jeremiah Horrocks Institute (University of Central Lancashire's, Alston Observatory) is located about 7 miles north-east of Preston in the North-West of England. The observatory facility is purpose-built for teaching their astronomy/astrophysics students and is also used for public outreach and it comprises both historical and modern telescopes.
Already owning a PlaneWave CDK700 0.7m telescope (their Moses Holden Telescope) – installed in 2015, see more images and information here –, we supplied and installed a PlaneWave L-350 mount on a PlaneWave wedge and Baader 0.6m Heavy Duty Steel Pier for their new 3m dome. The telescope that will be currently used is a 12" SCT but will be replaced by a larger aperture wider field instrument.
