Note from Baader Planetarium GmbH:
This impressive turn-key observatory, consisting of a 3.2m automatic slit dome equipped with PlaneWave CDK 700 telescope system and DeltaRho 350 Corrected Cassegrain, was purchased from a private individual from Sweden, who prefers not to be disclosed. Therefore the PIN on our world map was set to a random position in Sweden and does not reflect the actual location of the customer. The owner told us that he is very satisfied with the project and the support he has received from Baader Planetarium.
We are grateful that we received the permission to share this impressive installation in this way, because it shows nicely our capabilities and our love to detail. The whole observatory was seamlessly planned and designed to fit as much light collective surface in the smallest possible footprint. The CDK700 System in our 3.2M automatic dome is by far the closest fitting, that Baader Planetarium has managed to build. The flatfield box, that can be seen in the images, was a new development specifically for this customer and we integrated it into the dome with only two centimeters of space left to the moving radius of the telescope. Meanwhile we've developed three different sizes of this Flatfield Box which we will soon offer as a commercial product on our website.
The observatory is equipped with a Baader OMS System that allows the user to access the observatory and all its fully integrated components remotely. The video below shows the dome movement with tight fitting in real-time.
